Hot Springs enjoys the most mile temperatures in South Dakota, yet still enjoys the beauty of all four seasons.
Angostura Recreation Area
Angostura Recreation Area is a water-lover's haven with breathtaking scenic views. Offering crystal clear waters, 36 miles of shoreline, and some of the finest sandy beaches in the state. The area boasts many water sports and summer fun activities - Swimming, boating, biking, fishing, camping, disc golf, playgrounds, volleyball, stand up paddle boarding, picnic areas, bicycling, walking, running.

Brookside Park
A local secret, Brookside is situated off South River Street along the Freedom Trail. With newly installed playground equipment and shoreline access to the Fall River for swimming, Brookside is quite the destination.

Butler Park
Hot Springs' largest park, Butler Park features baseball and soccer fields, a skate park, Playground, tennis courts, a basketball court, horseshoe pits and two picnic shelters. Located on the south end is the Hot Springs Public Library.

Cascade Falls
Looking for an outdoor place for swimming in pleasantly warm water? Cascade Falls is the place for you.
Its name tells the story: hot water emerges from a spring two miles above the falls and the natural pool below the falls just beckons you in to relax. The temperature averages 67 F. The setting is lovely and the water has helped the area to grow some lovely flora. Kids are able to enjoy shallow parts of the pool, which has deep areas as well.  Hiking, swimming and picnic areas.

Centennial Park
The unofficial town square. Centennial is home to numerous events throughout the year including the Main Street Arts & Crafts Festival in June. Centennial Park conveniently sits between many historic downtown shops and the Freedom Trail, just down the way from Kidney Springs and the Chamber of Commerce Depot Visitor Center.

Cold Brook Park
Located just around the corner from Evans Plunge, this quiet park features a playground, beautiful mature trees, plenty of areas to picnic and great fishing.

Cottonwood Springs
Cottonwood Springs Dam, SD was constructed to reduce flood damages in the Fall River Basin. Located just 5 miles west of Hot Springs on U.S. Highway 18 and nestled in the rugged hills and evergreen trees of the southern Black Hills, Cottonwood Springs Lake is the place to go for nature lovers. This recreation area offers primitive camping only (no hookups), hiking, fishing (only electric motors), and picnicking.

Freedom Trail
Names in honor of those that served, the Freedom Trail is a multi-use, mile-long, paved trail following the Fall River that connects four different park areas. Be sure to have your camera ready as the trail is filled with shutter-worthy sights including wildlife, a Veteran's themed mural and other scenery that is sure to catch your eye.

Mikelson Trail
The George S. Mickelson Trail is a rail trail in the Black Hills region of South Dakota. The main trail route extends 108.8 miles, from Edgemont to Deadwood, with approximately nine miles of additional branch trails. Good for hiking, biking or walking the trail offers beautiful scenery not always visible from the highway.

Lower Chautaugua
Surrounded by a rock cliff and large sandstone boulders, Lower Chautauqua offers a swing set and picnic area with grills.

Upper Chautauqua
A popular and scenic location for weddings, family reunions, and other gatherings. Upper Chautauqua Park offers a large picnic shelter, scenic rock walls, access to the Fall River and picnic tables and grills.
